Chapter 37 Mr. Pei has feelings for Tang Man – 1
Pei Ling suddenly turned his head to look at Tang Man sitting in the passenger seat, seemingly having a lot to say but not knowing how to start.
However, Tang Man acted as if she hadn’t noticed anything. She glanced ahead and saw a complex intersection ahead, so she kindly reminded him.
“Focus on driving. I don’t want to get into an accident in someone else’s car.”
Only then did Pei Ling seem to have a real sense of the situation. He laughed as if relieved, “Senior, don’t worry, I won’t let anything happen to you.”
Tang Man remained noncommittal.
The two quickly arrived at the hospital. They drove directly into the underground parking lot, and Pei Ling followed behind her as they got out of the car.
Tang Man didn’t have any extra thoughts to spare on him. As soon as she exited the elevator, she headed towards the ward.
In the corridor stood some people, both men and women, and a few young males and females, all from the younger generation of the Tang family. Tang Man had only seen them a few times and could call their names, but they rarely had any contact.
It seemed that this matter had caused quite a stir; otherwise, these people wouldn’t have all been summoned here.
Almost as soon as Tang Man walked over, she attracted the attention of a group of people. There was the smell of smoke and the sweet scent of women’s perfume, all sorts of mixed scents that overpowered the original smell of disinfectant in the hospital.
A few women walked up, accompanied by a sweet fragrance. “Man Man, what took you so long to get here!”
“Your father almost ended up in the ICU.”
One of the women said this.
Tang Man frowned and distanced herself a few steps. She felt like she couldn’t even breathe through her nose. “Auntie, what perfume are you wearing?”
It was too sweet, almost suffocating. How much of it must have been sprayed on her body that even the uncle standing next to the aunt didn’t find it overpowering?
A woman on the side laughed. “What else could it be? Just buy whatever brand is popular.”
Seeing the aunt’s face turn sour upon hearing this, Tang Man changed the subject before the atmosphere could become tense. “Where are my uncles?”
“They’re inside, said they had to discuss some company matters. They kicked us all out, didn’t even let the kids stay.”
At this point, one of the aunts had grievances against Xie Li. It should be said that most of them disliked Xie Li. When mentioning him, they couldn’t help but give an elegant eye roll.
“Man Man, you have no idea. That special assistant Xie, he simply looks down on us. He said that President Tang is injured and needs to recuperate, so it’s not suitable for so many of us to go in together.”
“But he doesn’t even consider what kind of injury Zhengfeng has. It’s just a minor flesh wound. Have our family’s auntie send over a few meals of soup, and he’ll be as lively as a dragon and tiger in no time. There’s no need for rest and recuperation at all.”
Tang Man only smiled superficially and echoed a few words in agreement. Her gaze fell on the ward door as she casually said a few more things, no longer intending to waste time here and preparing to enter the ward.
However, someone quickly noticed Pei Ling following behind Tang Man. Tall and good-looking, he was like a bright lamp, causing the eyes of the aunts to light up.
“Man Man, whose family’s young master is this?”
Tang Man didn’t want to say much. She glanced at Pei Ling and said casually that he was a colleague from the company. At the same time, she leaned in and spoke to him in a low voice, telling Pei Ling that he could leave first. She would probably have to stay here for a while, and he might not be able to wait that long.
Moreover, this group of aunts wasn’t easy to deal with.
When they were in the car, she had already sent a message to her colleagues at the company, saying that she had an urgent matter in the afternoon and probably wouldn’t be able to return, so she needed to take a day off. She would likely have to spend the entire afternoon here.
Pei Ling smiled and looked at the group of men and women in front of him without speaking. Instead, he said, “I suddenly realized that your family is quite large.”
Tang Man glanced at Pei Ling. “Your family isn’t small either.”
As far as she knew, Pei Ling’s biological father’s family was also in business. Not to mention the numerous distant relatives, his father alone had three brothers and two aunts. It could be said to be a large family, the kind that couldn’t fit in a single villa during the New Year.
Not to mention his mother’s side. Due to their special family background, the number of sisters in the family wasn’t small either. Moreover, people from such families usually had close ties with relatives. Basically, within three degrees of kinship, they were all blood relatives, and within five degrees, they often interacted, which was incomparable to ordinary families.
Adding both sides together, Pei Ling probably saw a few new faces every year.
After this little exchange, Tang Man was about to address the aunts when the ward door opened. Xie Li stood at the doorway, glanced around, his gaze falling on Tang Man. His peripheral vision lightly swept over Pei Ling’s face, his expression remaining unchanged as he said, “Young Miss, President Tang is asking for you to come in.”
Tang Man’s gaze met Xie Li’s, and the smile on her face faltered for a moment. She glanced at the surrounding women, then nodded and said a few words before following Xie Li directly into the ward.
As she entered, Xie Li closed the door behind her.
Inside, two middle-aged men were sitting by the bed. They had been talking before she entered, but their voices lowered as soon as she came in. Another one was sitting on the sofa. He glanced at Tang Man, then lowered his head again, swiping through the phone in his hand with an absent-minded demeanor, lacking the steadiness a middle-aged man should have.
To be honest, among this generation of the Tang family, only Old Tang looked like a proper businessman.
A young woman was also standing by the window, wearing professional attire.
She was a cousin. It was said that she had started her own business outside, and Old Tang thought highly of her, supporting her during the early stages of her entrepreneurship. Now, it seemed that her company had grown, and she had become a successful businesswoman, constantly flying on planes. Tang Man could only see this cousin once during the New Year; it was difficult to meet at other times.
She was simply too busy. Even during the New Year, Tang Man had seen this cousin sitting in the study several times, wearing a Bluetooth headset and holding meetings, completely out of place with the rest of the Tang family. However, Old Tang had high hopes for her and had spared no effort in supporting her business. Several times, he had looked at Tang Man and sighed with disappointment, as if lamenting that she was not made of the right material.

If you’re like me…
Too tired of reading stories where the female lead is often foolish, weak, feeble both physically and mentally, usually in a subservient and oppressed role in society such as a maid, secretary, concubine… or to put it bluntly, typically the one who has to serve and please the male lead, always needing protection and rescue from male leads, while the male lead is often described as talented, strikingly handsome, powerful,…
Then please continue reading.
Hi there, girls!
I’m Yuushi L.
Every day, movies and comics continuously reinforce the notion that women are weak, that they can only handle trivial matters in the background, that women are petty-minded and constantly jealous, mocking, and laughing at other women, while men are strong, wealthy, and solely focused on conquering the world, with countless mindless women ready to fall into their arms.
Believe me, once you read Female-dominant (FEDO) novels, your mindset will change significantly.
I am deeply inspired by strong, independent, and rational women who have the power to take control of their lives, and I am fascinated by the way society’s gender roles are reversed in this genre compared to real life.
So I have created this web with the noble purpose of promoting the “Female-dominant (FEDO)” genre of novels.
In my country, there was a rare renowned female poet in ancient times who wrote the following about the fate of women in that era:
“Damn this life of sharing a husband,
One wrapped in warmth, the other left cold.
I’d rather have stayed single from the start,
Than to endure a life so torn apart.”
Perhaps my penchant for reading female-dominant stories is partly a way of rebelling against the realities of life.
On my site, there will be stories that are not only female-dominant novels, as long as they align with my taste, featuring strong female protagonists and fresh, captivating storylines. Usually, they will be modern or fantasy novels.
I rarely read ancient novels that aren’t female-dominant because they often contain details that easily trigger me. These include the portrayal of men having multiple wives and concubines, which was considered utterly normal in ancient society, and the frequent disdain towards women.
I cannot change the world, as the societal structure that discriminates against women and elevates men has existed for thousands of years. Changing it to truly give women an equal role in society is not something that can happen overnight. If you want gender equality now, it’s laughable. It will never happen when over 90% of national and business leaders are men.
But I can start by changing the mindset of women, sisters, and young girls. Don’t just read dull slogans urging women to be strong and independent; it’s hard to imagine. Read Female-dominant (FEDO) novels to see clearly what true female empowerment looks like.
I believe there will be more and more independent and strong women who prioritize their careers and personal stability over seeking a man to rely on.
In the future, there will be more successful female entrepreneurs, politicians, and thought leaders.
As for me, I will start by making this website grow stronger day by day.
I especially like the concept of “the male lead falls in love first, the female lead is the cold-hearted and rational one, and the male lead suffers because the female lead doesn’t reciprocate his feelings.”
Therefore, you’ll see that most of the novels on my website will belong to this trope. Of course, there will be exceptions.
In the future, I also plan to write my own novels following this concept, where the female lead in my stories will never be the weaker party. I hope I can do it soon.
The novels I highly recommend will be listed under the category:
There will be exceptionally brilliant stories, but there will also be mediocre ones. As the Female-dominant (FEDO) genre has fewer authors and readers, the number of high-quality novels is limited.
Therefore, I want to promote this genre to reach a wider audience, which will encourage more talented authors to choose to write in this style, leading to the birth of more outstanding Female-dominant (FEDO) novels.
The Chinese versions of the novels I use for translation are all sourced from various websites on the internet. You know, I don’t have much budget to purchase so many novels.
Therefore, if your financial situation allows, please support the authors by purchasing the original works. You can find the original works using the Chinese titles of the novels.

WARNING:
In some novels, there are certain unhealthy ideologies and illegal actions held by the main characters (for example, treating human lives as worthless, or casually deciding to kill someone, forcing others to do things they don’t want to do, arbitrarily imprisoning others, plotting to harm others, using violence to retaliate against violence,…).
This may be because the authors are still young and inexperienced, unaware that what they’re writing goes beyond moral standards and can negatively influence young readers.
It’s important that readers under 18 years old need to recognize these are illegal actions, not permitted to be carried out in real life, always keep a clear head while reading, treat these works only as entertainment, and don’t let yourself be influenced by those plot points.
