Chapter 34: Let’s Do Something Exciting [Double Update Combined]
A quarter of an hour later, they arrived at the location.
There were dedicated people to receive them. Wang Zhao and Li Zhenguan went straight into a reception room, which was very nicely decorated.
Wang Zhao noticed that some of the furniture was from a very famous Italian brand, which was usually used to decorate mansions to showcase status. Of course, Wang Zhao recognized this brand thanks to the recent home renovation that required purchasing some furniture.
In an instant, she was certain that this custom-made wedding dress would not be cheap.
The wool comes from the sheep’s back. Being received like this, Wang Zhao was sure that the Li family had spent a lot here, but this time the sucker might be her. However, Wang Zhao didn’t say anything and stayed by Li Zhenguan’s side.
As soon as they entered, the two of them were arranged to sit on the sofa in the reception room. In front of them were placed several booklets, along with brewed tea and snacks. Wang Zhao casually picked up a booklet and flipped through it.
This was a relatively niche designer studio that, besides wedding dresses, also designed other formal dresses, including red carpet gowns for some celebrities. However, due to its niche status, those who wore them were either veteran actors or D-list actors. Most of the clothes of the Li family’s parents and Li Zhenwei were custom-made here.
After a while, the people who came to take their measurements finally entered. However, they didn’t start measuring right away, but instead conversed with them for a few sentences to understand their design requirements and what kind of formal dress they wanted. While talking, someone would come over to take their measurements.
The designer who was talking to them was a male, and the two who came in to take measurements were also men, looking very young, probably apprentices working for the designer in the studio.
The two of them were measured separately. Wang Zhao turned around to see Li Zhenguan staring in this direction, his gaze falling on the man beside her. After a while, the designer nearby also noticed Li Zhenguan’s gaze, and he could almost immediately see Li Zhenguan’s thoughts.
“Mr. Li and his girlfriend seem to have a very good relationship,” he said with a smile.
Li Zhenguan didn’t withdraw his gaze, and upon hearing this, he smiled with pursed lips, which counted as a response.
The measuring was quickly completed, and Wang Zhao finally breathed a sigh of relief. The feeling of being fiddled with by strangers with objects on her body was not pleasant. Although the other party tried to minimize contact as much as possible, there was still a sense of being violated.
Li Zhenguan handed over a glass of water, then casually sat down next to Wang Zhao, patting her shoulder imperceptibly.
She tilted her head slightly.
Li Zhenguan pursed his lips and said softly, “There was dust here.”
Wang Zhao stared at the young man beside her for a moment, but ultimately didn’t say anything.
Who would believe that? What kind of place is this, to have such heavy dust falling that he could see with his naked eye?
Her gaze swept over lightly, not saying a word, naturally carrying a sense of coldness. Li Zhenguan, however, felt somewhat guilty, and thus increasingly believed that Wang Zhao was angry, although he rarely saw Wang Zhao angry. At most, she would be cold towards people, just not responding or speaking.
How to design the wedding dress had been discussed between the two of them before. Wang Zhao had no special requirements, only one point: not too revealing and convenient for walking. Li Zhenguan had many more requirements, with detailed requests for fabric and decorations, and even found samples for the studio to reference, looking very prepared.
However, this person only cared about aesthetics and not comfort at all. During the process, Wang Zhao couldn’t help but speak up, looking towards the designer in front of her.
A man in his late thirties or early forties, perhaps due to being in this industry, was well-maintained with no visible signs of age on his face. If he hadn’t just mentioned his college life many years ago, Wang Zhao might have thought he was only twenty-eight or twenty-nine.
Wang Zhao called out “Zhenguan,” stopping his speech, then smiled at Designer Tao in front of her and said, “There’s no need to add decorations here, we’re pursuing a minimalist design for our wedding dress. Also, he’s pregnant now, and by the time of the wedding, he’ll probably be four months along. The waist and abdomen measurements might be a bit larger, so please consider this and prioritize comfort for the wedding dress.”
They needed to have at least three wedding dresses custom-made: one for the wedding ceremony, one for daytime reception, and another for evening reception, which needed to be more casual. Li Zhenguan’s side had more guests, some with very close relationships, so they would need to have a special dinner at the hotel in the evening, mainly to get acquainted with people.
So, for both them and the studio, one month was too rushed, because normally one wedding dress would take about a month to make.
The man opposite didn’t seem surprised by Wang Zhao’s words. They received orders for custom wedding dresses several times a year, and had heard all kinds of strange requests. Getting married after pregnancy wasn’t uncommon, though four months pregnant was a bit rare. Most were around three months, getting married as soon as the pregnancy was stable, afraid of the belly showing.
Although times have changed and become more open than before, the people they dealt with were mostly from wealthy families, many of them nouveau riche, who cared most about face. Especially these newly rich families who wanted to climb up the social ladder, they particularly valued reputation. This kind of premarital pregnancy would definitely be kept under wraps.
The designer indicated understanding: “A four-month pregnancy isn’t very big yet, and won’t be very noticeable. Besides, Mr. Li is naturally on the slimmer side, so this won’t affect much. I’ll have someone ask you to come try on the clothes two days in advance, and if there are any issues, we can make adjustments on the spot.”
The designer finished speaking to Wang Zhao, then looked at Li Zhenguan, seeking his opinion.
He actually already had a premonition that the other party wouldn’t object much to Wang Zhao’s opinions. Earlier, when his studio staff touched Wang Zhao, he noticed that this Li family young master’s brows could have killed a fly, those eyes staring at his studio’s intern, making the young man’s movements a bit stiff.
This level of possessiveness was rare. He couldn’t help but look at Wang Zhao again, inwardly sighing that this lady’s appearance was indeed good, with a composed temperament, standing out in a crowd. No wonder this Li family young master was so nervous.
But whether a woman cheats or has wandering eyes can’t be prevented just by being this protective.

If you’re like me…
Too tired of reading stories where the female lead is often foolish, weak, feeble both physically and mentally, usually in a subservient and oppressed role in society such as a maid, secretary, concubine… or to put it bluntly, typically the one who has to serve and please the male lead, always needing protection and rescue from male leads, while the male lead is often described as talented, strikingly handsome, powerful,…
Then please continue reading.
Hi there, girls!
I’m Yuushi L.
Every day, movies and comics continuously reinforce the notion that women are weak, that they can only handle trivial matters in the background, that women are petty-minded and constantly jealous, mocking, and laughing at other women, while men are strong, wealthy, and solely focused on conquering the world, with countless mindless women ready to fall into their arms.
Believe me, once you read Female-dominant (FEDO) novels, your mindset will change significantly.
I am deeply inspired by strong, independent, and rational women who have the power to take control of their lives, and I am fascinated by the way society’s gender roles are reversed in this genre compared to real life.
So I have created this web with the noble purpose of promoting the “Female-dominant (FEDO)” genre of novels.
In my country, there was a rare renowned female poet in ancient times who wrote the following about the fate of women in that era:
“Damn this life of sharing a husband,
One wrapped in warmth, the other left cold.
I’d rather have stayed single from the start,
Than to endure a life so torn apart.”
Perhaps my penchant for reading female-dominant stories is partly a way of rebelling against the realities of life.
On my site, there will be stories that are not only female-dominant novels, as long as they align with my taste, featuring strong female protagonists and fresh, captivating storylines. Usually, they will be modern or fantasy novels.
I rarely read ancient novels that aren’t female-dominant because they often contain details that easily trigger me. These include the portrayal of men having multiple wives and concubines, which was considered utterly normal in ancient society, and the frequent disdain towards women.
I cannot change the world, as the societal structure that discriminates against women and elevates men has existed for thousands of years. Changing it to truly give women an equal role in society is not something that can happen overnight. If you want gender equality now, it’s laughable. It will never happen when over 90% of national and business leaders are men.
But I can start by changing the mindset of women, sisters, and young girls. Don’t just read dull slogans urging women to be strong and independent; it’s hard to imagine. Read Female-dominant (FEDO) novels to see clearly what true female empowerment looks like.
I believe there will be more and more independent and strong women who prioritize their careers and personal stability over seeking a man to rely on.
In the future, there will be more successful female entrepreneurs, politicians, and thought leaders.
As for me, I will start by making this website grow stronger day by day.
I especially like the concept of “the male lead falls in love first, the female lead is the cold-hearted and rational one, and the male lead suffers because the female lead doesn’t reciprocate his feelings.”
Therefore, you’ll see that most of the novels on my website will belong to this trope. Of course, there will be exceptions.
In the future, I also plan to write my own novels following this concept, where the female lead in my stories will never be the weaker party. I hope I can do it soon.
The novels I highly recommend will be listed under the category:
There will be exceptionally brilliant stories, but there will also be mediocre ones. As the Female-dominant (FEDO) genre has fewer authors and readers, the number of high-quality novels is limited.
Therefore, I want to promote this genre to reach a wider audience, which will encourage more talented authors to choose to write in this style, leading to the birth of more outstanding Female-dominant (FEDO) novels.
The Chinese versions of the novels I use for translation are all sourced from various websites on the internet. You know, I don’t have much budget to purchase so many novels.
Therefore, if your financial situation allows, please support the authors by purchasing the original works. You can find the original works using the Chinese titles of the novels.

WARNING:
In some novels, there are certain unhealthy ideologies and illegal actions held by the main characters (for example, treating human lives as worthless, or casually deciding to kill someone, forcing others to do things they don’t want to do, arbitrarily imprisoning others, plotting to harm others, using violence to retaliate against violence,…).
This may be because the authors are still young and inexperienced, unaware that what they’re writing goes beyond moral standards and can negatively influence young readers.
It’s important that readers under 18 years old need to recognize these are illegal actions, not permitted to be carried out in real life, always keep a clear head while reading, treat these works only as entertainment, and don’t let yourself be influenced by those plot points.
