After the IPO, the tricks of the aristocratic families changed. Either the wealthy daughters would approach her, insisting on calling her sister, or the sons, young masters, and nephews of some families would secretly admire her, losing their appetite waiting for her response.
Sometimes, she really wondered if those wealthy daughters and young masters each had a Mary Sue or Gary Stu novel, with endless twists and turns, and annoyingly lingering tricks.
Fang Xianxing was tired.
At the age of twenty-seven, in the prime of her life, she had already taken the initiative to ask her father to arrange blind dates for her.
Song Longsha didn’t know the twists and turns behind this, but she was clear that the wealthy circle was like the entertainment industry, with many temptations and a messy circle. Her sister didn’t want to get involved, so she rushed into blind dates. Whether it was a guardian stone or a shield, as long as it could block a wave of ill-intentioned suitors, it would be a blessing.
That Young Master Qu was obviously one of the ill-intentioned suitors.
“I don’t like the delicate type.” Song Longsha pouted. “Sister, how about I introduce someone to you? Mom and Dad’s generation’s aesthetic taste, tsk tsk tsk, who knows how dull the ones they think are decent and can live a stable life are.”
Hearing this, Fang Xianxing raised her brows. Xie Zhi’s face, like one carved from warm jade, flashed through her mind. His eyes were clear and he had a slight smile, as if his gaze penetrated her mind and looked at her, causing her to be stunned for a moment. Soon, she realized her trance, frowned to clear her mind, and answered Song Longsha, “It’s already settled. The son of Dad’s colleague from work. We’re going to get the certificate this afternoon.”
For a moment, Song Longsha couldn’t even maintain her own actress demeanor. Her mouth opened wide and she sat on the chair opposite Fang Xianxing, asking like a machine gun, “It’s settled just like that? Don’t you want to look around more? Although it’s to find a shield, it’s still marriage after all. How can you treat it like child’s play? What if there’s a chance to fall in love after marriage… And you’re getting the certificate without informing the family first, without informing me?”
“I know what I’m doing. I’ll go back home after getting it.” Fang Xianxing frowned slightly.
She actually also felt it was a bit hasty. It hadn’t even been three days since her first meeting with Xie Zhi. But Xie Zhi’s side seemed to have an urgent matter. After agreeing to her prenuptial conditions, he set the date for this afternoon to get the certificate.
Fang Xianxing carefully recalled Xie Zhi’s family information, work information, and most importantly, the notarized materials of various prenuptial agreements.
Indeed, there were no loopholes, and everything was taken care of.
Although it was strange to be urged to get a certificate by a man she had known for three days, Fang Xianxing was certain that she wasn’t the one being taken advantage of.
Seeing Song Longsha like that, Fang Xianxing tilted her head and thought for a moment. She took out a document from the drawer and pushed it in front of Song Longsha, “This is the information to be submitted to the Securities Regulatory Commission. It includes the marriage announcement and some of his basic information. Although marrying him is an expedient measure and the future is uncertain, after today, he will be your brother-in-law. When you meet him, remember to be polite and don’t be rude.”
Fang Xianxing was the largest shareholder of Chengxing, and her marriage had to be registered with the Securities Regulatory Commission and an announcement had to be made to the shareholders. Therefore, after receiving Fang Xianxing’s instructions, Xu Mi had prepared the preliminary review materials overnight.
“Xie Zhi?” Song Longsha took the folder, flipped through a couple of pages, and her eyes widened more and more.
“You know him?” Fang Xianxing’s heart trembled, but she didn’t show any of it on her face. She pretended to be indifferent and asked.
“It should be a namesake.” Song Longsha closed the folder in a daze and slowly pushed it back to Fang Xianxing, “The one I know doesn’t seem like the type to get married early… right?”
Song Longsha thought of the young man in her memory, cold and distant. Even if ill-tempered girls flirted with him, he wouldn’t show the slightest bit of interest.
How could someone like that go on blind dates and get married early?
Seeing her absent-minded appearance, Fang Xianxing knew she couldn’t inquire further, but she still couldn’t help asking, “Xie Zhi is the same age as you, so you should be in the same year. Could it be that you were classmates?”
Song Longsha looked at her blankly for a long time, then took out her phone, tapped and poked for a while, and placed a photo in front of Fang Xianxing, pointing at a spot and asking anxiously, “Sister, does he look like this?”

“I know she doesn’t love him.” (Female-dominant)
I’ve read this novel twice already. Sis, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
