Chapter 58
After last night, the skeptical Shen Yao Xing felt uneasy in her heart. Seeing the innkeeper’s demeanor, she became even more curious and walked to the counter to ask, “Innkeeper, last night that……”
“Alright, alright, miss, please don’t say anymore. I’m frightened just thinking about it.” Before the young woman could finish, the innkeeper interrupted her with a trembling voice.
Bai Sha and Meng Xin Yi exchanged a glance, both looking puzzled.
“Young miss, what exactly happened?”
Shen Yao Xing turned back, “Didn’t you hear anything last night?”
Bai Sha shook her head, Meng Xin Yi shrugged.
Shen Yao Xing didn’t know how to explain it properly. These two had such low alertness, how could they sleep so deeply at night?
“Miss,” the innkeeper suddenly called out to her. Shen Yao Xing turned back and saw the innkeeper handing her a talisman: “Take this. You saw that filthy thing, which means your luck is low. Take this to protect yourself.”
Shen Yao Xing’s fingers hesitated slightly as she took the yellow talisman. She looked it over and asked the woman uncertainly, “You want to give this to me?”
“Yes,” the innkeeper nodded, closing her account book with a sigh. “These talismans are almost used up. I’ll have to go buy more from the master later. Seeing your kind face, I’ll just give you this one.”
This made Shen Yao Xing feel embarrassed. She turned back and had Bai Sha bring out the money bag, giving her a silver ingot. Looking around curiously, she asked, “Your place is almost covered in talismans. Why do you need to buy more?”
“Miss, you don’t know. The master said that places like inns have all sorts of strange people, so the evil energy is heavy. The talismans can only last for a while. Every so often, they need to be replaced. Otherwise, they can’t ward off those filthy things.”
Hearing this, Shen Yao Xing felt something was off. She frowned slightly and tentatively asked, “Innkeeper, what exactly happened in this town before? Can you tell me?”
Although she had seen it with her own eyes last night, she still had some doubts. Are there really zombies in this world? If there are, why had she never heard of them before?
The innkeeper’s expression froze for a long while. She stared at the talisman in the young woman’s hand for a moment, then finally sighed and slowly said, “Actually, our town was fine a month ago. Later, a troublemaker named Qian Er from our town disappeared somehow. Originally, that troublemaker was an outsider with no relatives or friends in this town. The villagers discussed and decided to bury her. Who knew that on the night of her burial, she came back to town, with a green face and fangs, truly terrifying. It caused panic in the town for several days……”
“So you invited the master to deal with it?” Bai Sha, standing behind the young woman, was captivated and couldn’t help but interject.
The innkeeper shook her head, “The master said she had calculated that our town was in trouble and rushed here from thousands of miles away. Fortunately, with the master here, she drew us some talismans to ward off evil, so that filthy thing didn’t dare harm the villagers anymore.”
“Wow, that master is really amazing!” Bai Sha exclaimed admiringly.
“Yes, thanks to the master.” The innkeeper nodded in agreement.
Shen Yao Xing listened from the side, feeling something was off. She curiously asked, “If the master is so powerful, why doesn’t she just deal with that filthy thing directly?”
“The master said that Qian Er’s resentment is too deep. It can’t be dealt with quickly. It has to be done slowly.”
“Oh? Then how long will it take?” Shen Yao Xing asked again.
“The master said when the time is right, it can be done.”
Huh, by the time the opportunity is ripe, their money will probably have been swindled clean.
The more Shen Yao Xing listened, the more she felt something was wrong. Could this so-called master be a charlatan?
The innkeeper tidied up her things and turned back to invite kindly, “Miss, since you’re so curious, why don’t you come with me to see the master? Perhaps the master can give you some guidance as well.”
Shen Yao Xing didn’t agree immediately. Instead, she turned back to look at the two behind her, automatically skipping over the excited-looking Bai Sha to look at the woman behind her.
Meng Xin Yi crossed her arms indifferently, her face showing some interest: “It doesn’t matter if we delay for a while. It’s fine to go take a look.”
“That’s right, young miss. Let’s go ask the master to help us calculate!”
Glancing at the excitedly agreeing Bai Sha, Shen Yao Xing finally nodded.
They followed the innkeeper to the place where the so-called master lived, a two-story pavilion that wasn’t small.
They also saw the person who claimed to be the “master”.
Dressed in proper Taoist robes, she was sitting cross-legged on a meditation cushion with her eyes closed, chanting scriptures.
Besides the smell of incense, Shen Yao Xing could faintly smell the lingering aroma of meat in the air. Her beautiful brows furrowed slightly as she looked oddly at the woman meditating with closed eyes.
The innkeeper went forward and quietly explained their purpose. The woman slowly opened her eyes, looked them over, got up and went to the side to start drawing talismans.
Just a few talismans cost over thirty taels of silver. You should know that thirty taels of silver is equivalent to several years of living expenses for ordinary people. If they were really effective, that would be fine, but Shen Yao Xing felt something was off about this master.
The oil shine at the corner of her mouth hadn’t even been completely wiped clean.
The innkeeper received the talismans, looked at the group not far away, and introduced them to the master with a fawning smile, “These young ladies have come because of your reputation. They want to ask you for guidance.”
“Oh?” Pan Sheng Cai inconspicuously sized up the group, then waved her whisk and recited in a solemn manner, “This poor Taoist came here only for that demon. I don’t want too many disturbances.”
The implication was to not bring people over casually. Thinking she had angered the master, the innkeeper immediately broke out in a sweat: “I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I didn’t know you weren’t available. Please forgive me, master. I’ll take them away right now!”
Pan Sheng Cai turned her body to face the deity statue, tacitly agreeing with her actions. Just then, a young woman’s voice sounded.
“Master, there’s no need to be angry. The innkeeper only meant well. It’s just that I’ve admired divine beings like you who can calculate fate since I was young. When I happened to hear the innkeeper mention you, I wanted to come see you.”
Shen Yao Xing started with a round of flattery, so much that it gave herself goosebumps.
The young woman’s voice was clear and innocent, her naive appearance making people unconsciously lower their guard.
Among those present, only Bai Sha felt something was off. She secretly glanced at the young woman in front of her, unable to help muttering to herself, since when did the young miss believe in these things?

If you’re like me…
Too tired of reading stories where the female lead is often foolish, weak, feeble both physically and mentally, usually in a subservient and oppressed role in society such as a maid, secretary, concubine… or to put it bluntly, typically the one who has to serve and please the male lead, always needing protection and rescue from male leads, while the male lead is often described as talented, strikingly handsome, powerful,…
Then please continue reading.
Hi there, girls!
I’m Yuushi L.
Every day, movies and comics continuously reinforce the notion that women are weak, that they can only handle trivial matters in the background, that women are petty-minded and constantly jealous, mocking, and laughing at other women, while men are strong, wealthy, and solely focused on conquering the world, with countless mindless women ready to fall into their arms.
Believe me, once you read Female-dominant (FEDO) novels, your mindset will change significantly.
I am deeply inspired by strong, independent, and rational women who have the power to take control of their lives, and I am fascinated by the way society’s gender roles are reversed in this genre compared to real life.
So I have created this web with the noble purpose of promoting the “Female-dominant (FEDO)” genre of novels.
In my country, there was a rare renowned female poet in ancient times who wrote the following about the fate of women in that era:
“Damn this life of sharing a husband,
One wrapped in warmth, the other left cold.
I’d rather have stayed single from the start,
Than to endure a life so torn apart.”
Perhaps my penchant for reading female-dominant stories is partly a way of rebelling against the realities of life.
On my site, there will be stories that are not only female-dominant novels, as long as they align with my taste, featuring strong female protagonists and fresh, captivating storylines. Usually, they will be modern or fantasy novels.
I rarely read ancient novels that aren’t female-dominant because they often contain details that easily trigger me. These include the portrayal of men having multiple wives and concubines, which was considered utterly normal in ancient society, and the frequent disdain towards women.
I cannot change the world, as the societal structure that discriminates against women and elevates men has existed for thousands of years. Changing it to truly give women an equal role in society is not something that can happen overnight. If you want gender equality now, it’s laughable. It will never happen when over 90% of national and business leaders are men.
But I can start by changing the mindset of women, sisters, and young girls. Don’t just read dull slogans urging women to be strong and independent; it’s hard to imagine. Read Female-dominant (FEDO) novels to see clearly what true female empowerment looks like.
I believe there will be more and more independent and strong women who prioritize their careers and personal stability over seeking a man to rely on.
In the future, there will be more successful female entrepreneurs, politicians, and thought leaders.
As for me, I will start by making this website grow stronger day by day.
I especially like the concept of “the male lead falls in love first, the female lead is the cold-hearted and rational one, and the male lead suffers because the female lead doesn’t reciprocate his feelings.”
Therefore, you’ll see that most of the novels on my website will belong to this trope. Of course, there will be exceptions.
In the future, I also plan to write my own novels following this concept, where the female lead in my stories will never be the weaker party. I hope I can do it soon.
The novels I highly recommend will be listed under the category:
There will be exceptionally brilliant stories, but there will also be mediocre ones. As the Female-dominant (FEDO) genre has fewer authors and readers, the number of high-quality novels is limited.
Therefore, I want to promote this genre to reach a wider audience, which will encourage more talented authors to choose to write in this style, leading to the birth of more outstanding Female-dominant (FEDO) novels.
The Chinese versions of the novels I use for translation are all sourced from various websites on the internet. You know, I don’t have much budget to purchase so many novels.
Therefore, if your financial situation allows, please support the authors by purchasing the original works. You can find the original works using the Chinese titles of the novels.

WARNING:
In some novels, there are certain unhealthy ideologies and illegal actions held by the main characters (for example, treating human lives as worthless, or casually deciding to kill someone, forcing others to do things they don’t want to do, arbitrarily imprisoning others, plotting to harm others, using violence to retaliate against violence,…).
This may be because the authors are still young and inexperienced, unaware that what they’re writing goes beyond moral standards and can negatively influence young readers.
It’s important that readers under 18 years old need to recognize these are illegal actions, not permitted to be carried out in real life, always keep a clear head while reading, treat these works only as entertainment, and don’t let yourself be influenced by those plot points.
