Chapter 17
Zhang Meng was startled, quickly using her knife handle to deal with the women rushing forward to beat her, swiftly turning around and running towards the street corner.
Zi Yi saw her, his eyes red, anxiously saying: “Officer Zhang, the young master is just inside there.”
Zhang Meng ran in and found several women wielding knives chasing and hacking at a green-clothed man. The green-clothed man’s movements were quite agile, each time narrowly dodging the blade. However, no matter how agile he was, he couldn’t escape the women’s coordinated attacks coming one after another. Soon he was surrounded by the women, forced into a corner.
The lead woman sneered: “Xu Lu Cha, doing too many immoral things will always lead to retribution. Killing you would be eliminating a menace for the people.”
Xu Lu Cha’s face was pale, his beautiful eyes ice-cold: “Even so, I’ve never regretted what I’ve done.” He sneered: “You must be Xiao Chou’s elder sister? Indeed, just as disgusting as Xiao Chou.”
The woman suddenly gripped her knife handle tightly, fiercely slashing towards Xu Lu Cha: “Die! You poisonous husband!”
Xu Lu Cha stared unblinkingly at the gleaming sharp blade slashing towards him, the mockery still maintained on his lips, but the suddenly contracted pupils in his eyes revealed his terror at impending death.
However, that gleaming knife did not cut into his body. A beautiful hand intercepted the sharp blade, warm fresh blood dripping onto Xu Lu Cha’s face.
Xu Lu Cha was stunned.
Zhang Meng frowned, kicking away the knife in Ying Xiao Yue’s hand, shielding Xu Lu Cha, shouting sternly: “Fighting and killing are forbidden in Yun City.”
Ying Xiao Yue was kicked back several steps by Zhang Meng, clutching her numbed wrist. She glanced at the knife that had fallen to the side, then looked at Zhang Meng, speaking coldly: “Zhang Meng! This matter is none of your business, don’t get involved. If you dare stop me, I’ll kill you too!”
Zhang Meng’s right palm was dripping with fresh blood. She drew the knife at her waist with her left hand: “If you have any personal grudges with Xu Lu Cha, you can resolve them in court. I believe Magistrate Zhong will certainly give you justice. Killing for momentary satisfaction ultimately harms others and yourself. You’re still young, I don’t want you to go down a path of no return.”
Ying Xiao Yue roared angrily: “Stop spouting these high-sounding words, I see you and that poisonous husband Xu Lu Cha are in cahoots.” She turned back and shouted to her sisters behind her: “Kill them!”
The women charged forward fiercely. Zhang Meng quickly dodged, blocked, and counterattacked, while also having to keep an eye on Xu Lu Cha behind her. After a while, she began to tire.
A gleaming knife slashed towards Xu Lu Cha. Zhang Meng’s heart skipped a beat, her body reacting before her mind could, shielding Xu Lu Cha.
A sharp pain shot through her back. Zhang Meng stiffened momentarily from the pain. She gritted her teeth, sweat sliding down her gentle cheeks.
Xu Lu Cha stared at her in a daze, his clean white hand touching Zhang Meng’s back, instantly covered in fresh blood.
Zhang Meng didn’t pause at all. She turned back, exerting force with her left hand, using the back of her knife to knock away the knife of the woman attacking her. She stood up again, beating back several fierce women, then turned back to urgently tell Xu Lu Cha: “Young Master Xu, quickly leave here and go to the government office to get help!”
Xu Lu Cha seemed to only now react. He looked at Zhang Meng with a complex expression, then stood up straight and quickly ran away.
Seeing that green figure leave the alley, Zhang Meng breathed a sigh of relief. She gathered her spirits, focusing on dealing with the people before her.
Since Xu Lu Cha had left, Ying Xiao Yue was furious and wanted to chase after him, but was blocked by Zhang Meng each time. After several exchanges, Ying Xiao Yue stopped and shouted angrily: “You brainless person, Xu Lu Cha wants to hire someone to kill you, yet you risk your life to save him!”
Zhang Meng used her knife to prop herself up, steadying her body. Excessive blood loss was already making her dizzy, but she still rallied her spirits, looking at the angry Ying Xiao Yue, forcing a smile: “Protecting the people is our duty as officers. I would do this for anyone.”
Ying Xiao Yue became even more furious: “Someone like him doesn’t deserve your protection!”
After shouting, she charged forward, wanting to finish off Zhang Meng.
Zhang Meng’s vision was already blurry. She wanted to raise her sword to block Ying Xiao Yue’s attack, but lacked the strength. Her body swayed and finally couldn’t support itself, collapsing to the ground.
She thought, dying in the line of duty this time at least lived up to her position as an officer, and didn’t waste all those years of admiring the police. She had finally been selfless and honorable once.
······
“How is she?”
Seeing Zi Yi step into the courtyard, Xu Lu Cha quickly stood up from the stone table.
Zi Yi’s eyes were red and his face somewhat pale. He replied: “Officer Zhang is still unconscious.”
Xu Lu Cha’s beautiful eyes widened slightly, his expression stunned. He slowly sat back down, saying softly: “She’s really foolish, actually saving someone like me……”
Zi Yi wiped away tears: “Young master, are you satisfied now? Officer Zhang is indeed about to die.”
Xu Lu Cha gripped the handkerchief in his hand: “Isn’t this what she deserves? I didn’t ask her to save me.”
Hearing this, Zi Yi stared at Xu Lu Cha somewhat angrily: “Young master, although I’ve never contradicted you before, this time you’re truly wrong! If not for Officer Zhang, would you still be alive? Officer Zhang knew you wanted to hire someone to kill her, yet she still risked her life to save you. Shouldn’t you remember this debt of gratitude?”
Xu Lu Cha suddenly raised his head, stammering: “She knew I wanted to deal with her……”
“Of course, Officer Zhang understands everything, she just didn’t want to expose you.”
Xu Lu Cha’s hands resting on his knees slowly gripped his clothes. He lowered his head, his expression indiscernible. After a long while, he raised his head, his face regaining its usual coldness. He stood up, slowly speaking: “I never asked her to save me.”
It was just that she was stupid. Stupidly laughable, saving even someone as ruthless as him. Even if she died, wasn’t it what she deserved?
······
A day passed, and Xu Lu Cha had stayed in his room without going out. Zi Yi was too preoccupied to pay attention to Xu Lu Cha at this time, constantly waiting at the government office gate for news of Zhang Meng, until he heard that Zhang Meng was out of danger. Only then did he feel relieved.
Xu Lu Cha never asked about Zhang Meng’s news, and Zi Yi was somewhat annoyed with Xu Lu Cha, so he never took the initiative to mention Zhang Meng to Xu Lu Cha. He just quietly followed behind Xu Lu Cha, trying his best to serve Xu Lu Cha, fulfilling his duties as a servant.
······
The light green gauze bed curtains swayed gently in the breeze.

If you’re like me…
Too tired of reading stories where the female lead is often foolish, weak, feeble both physically and mentally, usually in a subservient and oppressed role in society such as a maid, secretary, concubine… or to put it bluntly, typically the one who has to serve and please the male lead, always needing protection and rescue from male leads, while the male lead is often described as talented, strikingly handsome, powerful,…
Then please continue reading.
Hi there, girls!
I’m Yuushi L.
Every day, movies and comics continuously reinforce the notion that women are weak, that they can only handle trivial matters in the background, that women are petty-minded and constantly jealous, mocking, and laughing at other women, while men are strong, wealthy, and solely focused on conquering the world, with countless mindless women ready to fall into their arms.
Believe me, once you read Female-dominant (FEDO) novels, your mindset will change significantly.
I am deeply inspired by strong, independent, and rational women who have the power to take control of their lives, and I am fascinated by the way society’s gender roles are reversed in this genre compared to real life.
So I have created this web with the noble purpose of promoting the “Female-dominant (FEDO)” genre of novels.
In my country, there was a rare renowned female poet in ancient times who wrote the following about the fate of women in that era:
“Damn this life of sharing a husband,
One wrapped in warmth, the other left cold.
I’d rather have stayed single from the start,
Than to endure a life so torn apart.”
Perhaps my penchant for reading female-dominant stories is partly a way of rebelling against the realities of life.
On my site, there will be stories that are not only female-dominant novels, as long as they align with my taste, featuring strong female protagonists and fresh, captivating storylines. Usually, they will be modern or fantasy novels.
I rarely read ancient novels that aren’t female-dominant because they often contain details that easily trigger me. These include the portrayal of men having multiple wives and concubines, which was considered utterly normal in ancient society, and the frequent disdain towards women.
I cannot change the world, as the societal structure that discriminates against women and elevates men has existed for thousands of years. Changing it to truly give women an equal role in society is not something that can happen overnight. If you want gender equality now, it’s laughable. It will never happen when over 90% of national and business leaders are men.
But I can start by changing the mindset of women, sisters, and young girls. Don’t just read dull slogans urging women to be strong and independent; it’s hard to imagine. Read Female-dominant (FEDO) novels to see clearly what true female empowerment looks like.
I believe there will be more and more independent and strong women who prioritize their careers and personal stability over seeking a man to rely on.
In the future, there will be more successful female entrepreneurs, politicians, and thought leaders.
As for me, I will start by making this website grow stronger day by day.
I especially like the concept of “the male lead falls in love first, the female lead is the cold-hearted and rational one, and the male lead suffers because the female lead doesn’t reciprocate his feelings.”
Therefore, you’ll see that most of the novels on my website will belong to this trope. Of course, there will be exceptions.
In the future, I also plan to write my own novels following this concept, where the female lead in my stories will never be the weaker party. I hope I can do it soon.
The novels I highly recommend will be listed under the category:
There will be exceptionally brilliant stories, but there will also be mediocre ones. As the Female-dominant (FEDO) genre has fewer authors and readers, the number of high-quality novels is limited.
Therefore, I want to promote this genre to reach a wider audience, which will encourage more talented authors to choose to write in this style, leading to the birth of more outstanding Female-dominant (FEDO) novels.
The Chinese versions of the novels I use for translation are all sourced from various websites on the internet. You know, I don’t have much budget to purchase so many novels.
Therefore, if your financial situation allows, please support the authors by purchasing the original works. You can find the original works using the Chinese titles of the novels.

WARNING:
In some novels, there are certain unhealthy ideologies and illegal actions held by the main characters (for example, treating human lives as worthless, or casually deciding to kill someone, forcing others to do things they don’t want to do, arbitrarily imprisoning others, plotting to harm others, using violence to retaliate against violence,…).
This may be because the authors are still young and inexperienced, unaware that what they’re writing goes beyond moral standards and can negatively influence young readers.
It’s important that readers under 18 years old need to recognize these are illegal actions, not permitted to be carried out in real life, always keep a clear head while reading, treat these works only as entertainment, and don’t let yourself be influenced by those plot points.
