A leader in the conference room was shocked. “Why is it Xiao Jin!”
The top leader frowned slightly. “Yan Jin?”
“Yes,” the leader steadied her emotions. “Three days ago, Xiao Jin fainted in the lab and was sent to the hospital. She still hasn’t woken up.”
The top leader’s brows furrowed even more. “Will Yan Jin’s absence have a big impact on that research project?”
The leader smiled bitterly. “Xiao Jin was the one who proposed that research project in the first place. She is the main person in charge and the one who knows best how to conduct the research. Without her guidance in the past few days, the others don’t dare to act rashly for fear of taking a wrong step and wasting all previous efforts.”
The top leader remained silent for a while before speaking. “Spare no effort to contact the system and have it send the two kids back.”
When Yan Jin turned over and sat up, she saw an unfamiliar male lying behind her.
Although the man’s face was partially covered by silver long hair, the exposed skin was as white as fine snow.
Yan Jin glanced at the bed and, seeing no signs of the other person waking up, quietly sighed in relief that she didn’t have to talk to a stranger. She then sat up properly.
The change in perspective from lying down to sitting up allowed Yan Jin to clearly see two figures sticking together projected on a screen not far away.
It seemed that the live sex show she had just heard came from them.
Yan Jin wasn’t interested in other people’s privacy, so she shifted her gaze elsewhere.
As she shifted her gaze and saw the environment she was in, Yan Jin’s pupils involuntarily contracted.
It was a room with an ancient charm. The calligraphy and paintings on the walls and the furnishings around were almost identical to the imitation ancient folk houses Yan Jin had visited before with her friend Yan Zi.
Except for the screen Yan Jin saw at first.
A slight sound came from behind, probably the silver-haired man waking up.
Yan Jin frowned slightly. The female-dominant world set by Yan Zi did not mix in Western elements. The natives all had black hair and black eyes.
Judging from the man’s hair color, he might also be an unfortunate transmigrator like her.
Under normal circumstances, Yan Jin should exchange a few words with him.
But this thought only slid through Yan Jin’s mind before slipping away.
Chatting would take up too much time.
Besides, the topics in small talk were all about trivial matters, which sounded boring and made people want to doze off.
Moreover, there was a priority order for things. At a time like this, there was no need for small talk.
This was absolutely not an excuse she found because she didn’t want to talk to people.
She just didn’t want to waste time.
With this thought, Yan Jin raised her head to look at the bedpost.
There was an extremely shallow scratch on the bedpost, as if it had been made by someone using something very thin.
Yan Jin silently stroked the scratch. It had been left by Yan Zi accidentally with her newly done nails when she was drunk and showing off to Yan Jin before.
A clean, fair hand appeared in the camera frame.
[The DNA engraved in the souls of hand-fetishists stirred.] [I’m guilty. Seeing such a beautiful hand, something nonexistent stood up.]After discovering the scratch, Yan Jin began to suspect this was a prank by Yan Zi.
With Yan Zi’s spirited personality, it wasn’t impossible for her to find two people to act in order to trick Yan Jin.
Yan Jin muttered in her heart: The sound effects are quite realistic.
As soon as she finished muttering, she heard a sobbing whimper.
Before Yan Jin could exclaim at the actors’ dedication, she heard the rustle of clothes rubbing together.
“…” Yan Jin’s expression remained calm, but upon careful observation, one would find that her calmness had actually frozen on her face. “Damn it.”
No matter how wild Yan Zi was, she couldn’t possibly hire so many people to let Yan Jin experience a live sex show.
Before Yan Jin could gather evidence to confirm her guess, she heard an extremely low male voice from behind her. “Don’t be afraid.”
Yan Jin was stunned. The person lying on the bed was a boy, not a girl?
Yan Jin, who had mistaken the other person for a girl, turned her head and met the eyes of the boy whose face and neck had turned completely red.
Probably misunderstanding that Yan Jin was scared, the boy covered his ears tightly and gently comforted her, “Don’t worry, I will definitely take you to escape from here.”
[I didn’t expect Yu Shu, with his slender arms and legs, to be quite responsible.] [He’s just hearing the sound of others kissing, yet he covers his ears. Now he wants to put on the act of being afraid of women. Tsk tsk.] [I think Yu Shu just turned eighteen three days ago. Isn’t it normal for him to be shy?]Yan Jin’s index finger suddenly felt a little itchy. She really wanted to take out that cactus thorn from her pocket and poke her fingertip to calm her mood.

“I know she doesn’t love him.” (Female-dominant)
I’ve read this novel twice already. Sis, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
