Chapter 62: Knowing [Bug Fix]
In a private room of the Li Residence, Li Tianyang was lying by the window, watching the night watchmen outside. He took out the powder of sleeping drug that he had stolen from the study room with great difficulty today and sprinkled it on a silk handkerchief.
Carefully hiding the silk handkerchief behind his back, he walked to the front of the bed with his hands behind his back, cleared his throat and said in a clear voice, “Someone, come!”
As soon as his voice fell, a servant entered and bowed to him, “Young Master, what are your orders?”
Li Tianyang glanced at the open door and the night watchmen standing outside the bedroom, then turned his gaze to the servant and raised his chin, “This Young Master wants to rest, aren’t you coming to serve me?”
“Yes.” The servant didn’t notice anything unusual and closed the door as usual. He walked up to the young man and was about to help him undress.
Li Tianyang narrowed his fox-like eyes and watched the approaching servant. With lightning speed, he grasped the servant’s arm and covered his mouth and nose with the silk handkerchief behind his back, letting him struggle weakly.
Only after repeatedly confirming that the person was unconscious did Li Tianyang drag the limp body onto the bed and cover him with a silk quilt after removing his clothes.
After dealing with the person, the young man panted lightly and wiped the fine sweat on his forehead. He quickly put on the servant’s clothes, even tying his hair to look the same as the servant.
After confirming in front of the bronze mirror, Li Tianyang lowered his head and opened the door. The night watchman standing at the door glanced at the figure on the bed inside the room and said to Li Tianyang, who was dressed up, in a low voice, “The Young Master isn’t making trouble tonight?”
“Mm.” Li Tianyang’s palms were sweating nervously, and he lowered his head for fear that she would recognize him.
Fortunately, the night watchman didn’t notice anything amiss and just breathed a sigh of relief, “That’s good then. He’s been making trouble these past few days, making it difficult for everyone.” It made her not want to work anymore, but the monthly pay from the Li family was so generous that she was reluctant to leave.
“Mm.” Li Tianyang gritted his teeth and grunted, feeling that this woman was too talkative.
“Alright, alright, it’s best if he doesn’t make trouble. You go and rest, I’ll call you if there’s anything.”
“Okay.” After responding, Li Tianyang couldn’t wait to leave the courtyard.
He was naturally very familiar with the Li Residence. He walked to the wall of the side room and looked around to make sure no one was there before moving a high stone to start climbing the wall.
When Li Tianyang’s feet touched the ground outside the Li Residence, he felt incredibly relieved. He had been confined in the Li Residence for a long time. His mother refused to let him leave the residence and sent people to watch him every day, almost suffocating him to the point of madness.
Li Tianyang stretched out his arms and took a deep breath, smiling smugly, “Hmph, wanting to confine this Young Master is simply a wild dream.”
He was going to find Qingyu right now. Last time, he hadn’t heard Qingyu’s answer before he inexplicably fainted. When he woke up, he was in his room. Later, when his mother found out about this, he couldn’t leave the residence again. He couldn’t wait any longer, he wanted to hear Qingyu’s answer now!
Thinking that he was about to marry her soon, Li Tianyang couldn’t help but feel excited.
His feet moved slightly, ready to walk towards the clinic, but after taking a few steps, he realized that it was the middle of the night.
How could Qingyu be at the clinic now?
Li Tianyang stamped his feet in frustration. He couldn’t go to the clinic to find her now, but he didn’t know where she lived. Forget it, he would find her tomorrow.
He nodded secretly, planning to stay at an inn in town for the night first. As he passed an alley, he heard a muffled sound coming from inside. Li Tianyang slightly furrowed his delicate brows and listened carefully.
The sound was very faint, like someone being forcibly gagged, and it stood out and seemed particularly eerie in the quiet night with only the sound of the wind.
Li Tianyang couldn’t suppress his curiosity and walked towards the alley. By the time he got close, the muffled sound had completely disappeared, and the sound of cloth rubbing was clear to the ear.
He peeked around the corner of the wall and narrowed his eyes to look into the deep alley. The moon was only half visible tonight, and in the dim light, he could vaguely see a tall figure skillfully handling a limp corpse that was already lifeless on the ground.
Li Tianyang covered his mouth, his fox-like eyes slightly widened as he watched. He could even see the liquid constantly rolling off the corpse when the person lifted it up. Although he couldn’t see the color clearly, he knew exactly what it was.
Not daring to stay any longer, Li Tianyang covered his mouth and left with light footsteps. When he reached the street, he quickened his pace, suppressing the fear in his heart.
But when he saw the tall figure suddenly appear not far in front of him, his heart turned cold and his body finally went limp, sitting on the ground. He watched helplessly as the figure approached him and finally stopped in front of him.
Li Tianyang looked up in a daze and saw the face of the dark figure in the hazy moonlight. It was an expressionless face with deep, cold, emotionless eyes, looking down at him coldly.
His lips trembled slightly as he opened his mouth, “Don’t…… don’t kill me……” His voice was so soft that it seemed to scatter with the wind.
Qingmo looked coldly at the young man on the ground, a hint of annoyance rising in her heart. She touched the curved saber at her waist, just like with those people. With a light swing of her hand, she could end his life.
But seeing the young man’s slightly trembling body actually made a hint of unprecedented hesitation rise in her heart.
This unfamiliar feeling made her displeased. Qingmo swiftly drew the curved saber from her waist and swung it at the young man without hesitation.
But it stopped less than a finger’s width from his neck.
Li Tianyang had his eyes tightly closed, waiting for the pain to come, but he only felt a chill pass by his neck, and the pain never came for a long time.
He slowly opened one eye and saw the curved saber shining with a cold light near his neck. His gaze slowly moved upward, timidly looking at the frowning woman, not daring to make a sound for fear of angering her and losing his head.
It was the first time he had felt such fear. In the face of life and death, no matter who it was, they would feel timid.
Qingmo slightly furrowed her brows and looked coldly at the young man on the ground. No matter what, she couldn’t bring herself to swing the curved saber in her hand. She clicked her tongue in annoyance and put away the curved saber.
